The “2013 MTV EMA” will broadcast live on MTV (DStv Channel 130) on Sunday 10 November at 22:00 CAT from the stunning new Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam (official red carpet show starts at 21:00 CAT).

Continuing his hot streak after a long hiatus from music, Timberlake continues to dominate 2013, securing EMA nominations for Best Male, Best Live, Best Look, Best US Act and Best Video for “Mirrors”.  First-time EMA nominees Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will compete for Best New, Best Hip Hop, Best Song for “Thrift Shop (ft. Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus will go head to head for the Best Female title, and both will vie against Robin Thicke for Best Video. Voting for EMA categories is open now until 00:59 CAT on Saturday 9 November 2013.
Once again, viewers from around the world have been engaging with the EMA digital platforms to earn points for their favorite EMA artists in the Biggest Fans category; since 30 August, their participation has helped narrow down the field to the five official nominees announced today. The more fans continue to engage with the EMA content featured on MTV’s digital platforms in the weeks leading up to the show, the more they can help boost the chances for their favorite artist to win the Biggest Fans award on November 10th.

Each year, the MTV EMA highlights incredible artists from every corner of the world with the Worldwide Act category. Fans can vote for nominated artists from their respective territory starting today, Tuesday 17 September. The local winners will receive an EMA award and also move on to the next phase of voting starting Friday 25 October and compete for the regional title. how to make you brain sharp and active

.1. Lead an active lifestyle and exercise regularly. Brisk walking, swimming, aerobics and yoga in mid-life helps prevent memory problems that often come with aging. Mild to moderate exercise is all it takes just that one should do it regularly.

2. Exercise your brain. An active brain stays sharp and continues to produce new connections between nerve cells. Doing crosswords, reading, playing games such as chess, and learning a new hobby helps our brain.

3. Eat a healthy diet. A diet that is low in saturated fats, sugar, bleached white flour and junk foods and which has an abundance of colorful fruits and veggies will keep your brain sharp as well as keeping your body trim and protect you against diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease.

4. Avoid stress. Stress also damages your brain by releasing damaging hormones. Avoid stressful situations by turning to nature, doing yoga, meditations, etc.

5. Get adequate sleep. Sound sleep enables the body and brain to heal and recharge so that you are healthier and are able to think more clearly. Sleep also helps you have a better long-term memory.

6. Be sure to include plenty of antioxidants in your diet. Numerous studies have shown that a diet rich in antioxidants helps prevent and slow age-related declines in memory and learning. Among the very best sources of antioxidants are blueberries, dark grapes and pomegranates.

7. Incorporate plenty of essential omega-3 fatty acids in your diet. Omega-3s help protect the brain against age-related decline and maintain proper brain function throughout life. Some of the best omega-3 sources include fatty cold water fish such as tuna, sardines and mackerel.

8. Have an active social life. Besides meeting colleagues at work place, have friends outside office and also stay in touch with relatives. Talking and interacting with others keeps your brain active and sharpen thinking. According to a leading psychologist, spending only 10 minutes talking to another person can be as effective as mental exercises such as working crossword puzzles.

Stress damages brain by releasing damaging Hormones. So you must endeavour to live a stressfree life!

My Philosophy of L I F E [LIVING an IMPACT FOR ETERNITY]

Assuming you are to wake up one morning, to your greatest dismay to find out that  everybody( your father, mother, wife, children, brothers and sister, friends, families) had gone. Nowhere to be found on Earth remaining only You. what will you do? Nobody else to talk to, Nobody to hear you when you talk, Nobody to keep you company in the world. Though you are left with all the good things you desired in life, be it Mansions, Cars, Trillions in different banks Account and what have you,but no one to talk or someone to put smile on their face. Can you still  live a happy and fulfilling Life?
Is it not ridiculous that as Unique as Man was created and Ought to be, we are still ignorant about Life and How we should live in it to Gods Glory and our own fulfilment. life is too small compared to life after death which is Eternity, So that is why we should live a life of impact. You may be wondering why I said, Life of impact.
L I F E means Living an Impact For Eternity. As you sojourn in these short stay here on earth, If you fail to make people Happy and fail to carve your name in their heart, you are not worthy to live. YES! though everyone must not like you, but do what your heart tell you which also glorifies God.
It is unfortunate that some people failed to carve and are still failing their name on the heart of Men rather on sand which has being washed away and will soon b be washed away by the flood and erosions of time. They seek to inherent evrything on earth without showing people around them love, Forgetting they are not the Maker and owner of their own soul.   if you are not remembered when you die here on earth for being a Man of Peace, A Man that touches the life of Men, A Man that  makes the people feel the goodness of Life in them or How well you are connected to the people around you, you are not better than a person that has never existed before. This life is short so try to live it to your happpiness and Gods Glory. always do what pleases God, your Maker not Men.
A life of happiness and peace of mind is the best Life that anyone could dream of, which is far better than living in Mansions, driving expensive cars but have no peace of mind.  The best way to have a Mind of peace is top live by God.
if some people can be able to solve these life unending questions-
-who created me
- for what purpose was created
- who own my life
They would quickly realise how far they had gone astray from  Gods purpose and wills upon us in Life. only the Word of God( BIBLE) has the power to make us live a happy Life and have a mind of peace. never depart from Him for He is your creator. Never worry too much.

Dating rules for mature minds

1. That dashing sport who pursues you with wild romantic gestures has probably pursued other women with those same gestures in the past -- and will probably do so in the future, perhaps even while he's using them on you.
2. When a man tells you he wants a woman who has "her own interests," that means he wants you not to complain when he golfs twice a week.
3. The little tics of his that bother you at the beginning either become instantly unimportant once you fall in love -- or bug you more each day until you want to blow your brains out.
4. It's not always better to start off a relationship with super sex: The hotter it is at the beginning, the more disappointing the inevitable leveling-off.
5. How much he makes you laugh is more important than how much he makes -- or even how much he makes you happy in bed.
6. Personal hygiene is very, very important.
7. The two questions you should ask early in a relationship are, "How young a woman would you date if you could?" and, "Would you choose a woman with breast implants over a woman with small breasts all her own?"
8. If a man tells you he "loves really smart women," check out how he reacts when it's you all the people at the dinner party are listening to raptly.
9. The most romantic words a man can say are, "I can't wait to hear what you think about this."
10. The most romantic words a woman can say are, "Just lie back and relax."
11. Sex on a beach only sounds romantic; the older you get, the more sand doesn't mix with your anatomy.
12. Just because a man is making passionate love to you every night doesn't mean he isn't cheating on you.
13. The man you thought was "too nice" to date in your 20s will look shockingly good at your college reunion.
14. "Bad boys" turn into bad men with drug and alcohol problems.
15. A man who is over 40 and says he "just hasn't found the right woman yet" isn't ever going to find that woman.
16. The eternal relationship dilemma is not "Do you love me?" but "How much togetherness is too much -- or not enough?"
17. If you fall in love with a divorced man whose marriage was terrible, you'll always look better by comparison.
18. Even the most resentful stepchildren eventually grow up and move out.
19. Being single is preferable to being lonely in a relationship.
20. Other couples' relationships, which may look enviously romantic from the outside, are, behind closed doors, probably just as screwed up as yours.

Twitter set to join the stock market

..Twitter says it plans to join the stock market in the most hotly anticipated flotation since Facebook's last year.

Referring to the official paperwork needed to join the market, the company tweeted: "We've confidentially submitted an S-1 to the SEC for a planned [initial public offering]."

Investors value Twitter, founded in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone and Evan Williams, at more than $10bn (£6.3bn).

Twitter gave no further details as to the timing or price of the offering.

The microblogging service is on track to post $583m in revenue in 2013, according to advertising consultancy eMarketer, up from $288m in 2012.

Most of Twitter's funding comes from advertising, with companies paying for "promoted tweets" that appear in users' Twitter feeds.

Advertisers are keen to target Twitter's 200 million active users, who send more than 500 million tweets a day.

Mobile first

But some analysts believe the risk for Twitter post-flotation is that if the drive for greater advertising revenue leads to increased numbers of adverts in and around the site, they could become intrusive and unpopular with users.

"There's a few issues [such as] how many revenue streams can be developed beyond just advertising, the impact of more people accessing the service via smartphones," said Colin Gillis, a New York-based technology specialist at BGC Partners.

Nearly two-thirds of users access Twitter via mobile devices that have traditionally been difficult for advertisers to reach.

This is one reason why Twitter has acquired MoPub, a mobile-focused advertising exchange, for a reported $350m.

"Twitter was more or less a mobile-first platform from the start and so the company built its experience to work relatively well across devices," Clark Fredriksen of eMarketer told the BBC.

"Ultimately, they did a good job of monetising their mobile user base."

Learning from Facebook

"Twitter is one of the last of the major developed social networks to file [for an initial public offering or IPO] - we've already had Facebook and LinkedIn," said Mr Gillis.

Demand for Facebook shares was high when they first listed, but the share price has disappointed investors since then
Facebook listed on the stock market in May last year. Although it initially created excitement among investors, its share price performed poorly, before recovering this summer.

The timing of the IPO is likely to be related to renewed activity in stock market flotations. There have been 131 IPOs priced so far in 2013, according to IPO tracking firm Renaissance Capital - a 44% increase on the same period last year.

Activity is climbing back towards the pre-financial crisis levels of 2007, says Renaissance.

Andrew Frank, social media expert at technology research company Gartner, said: "[The IPO] gives its investors a way to get some of the money back that they put into the company at the beginning.

"It gives the employees a similar kind of event to reward them for the success they've had so far. And it gives Twitter itself extra funds to invest in new projects and innovation."

Mr Gillis said it was impossible to say how great the demand for Twitter shares would be until the company released a valuation.

Analysts say Twitter must continue to innovate under the scrutiny of public ownership.

"One of the things they will have to focus on is making sure that they keep their users very actively engaged," Nate Elliott, an analyst at the tech consultancy Forrester, told the BBC.

"One of the things Facebook has done very successfully over the past year-and-a-half has been to show that not only is the number of users growing, but that those users are becoming more active."

'This tweet is going public?'

Twitter's tweet announcing its filing immediately went viral - it was re-tweeted more than 8,000 times within an hour of its posting.

For many users, it seemed apt that the company would use its own platform to announce the news.

"Naturally Twitter announces its IPO via Twitter. What other way?" one read.

Twitter later sent a follow-up tweet, which read simply: "Now, back to work."

Once a company has filed paperwork with US regulators for a planned IPO, it enters a so-called "quiet period" when it is not allowed to speak to the media.

According to the Securities and Exchange Commission's website, a company can file a confidential prospectus for a public share sale if it is classified as an "emerging growth company" with revenue of less than $1bn.

EDUCATION FOR ALL, PROGRESS AND CHALLENGES

Education for All (EFA)

Overview
Education is a right, like the right to have proper food or a roof over your head. Article 26 of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that “everyone has the right to education”. Education is not only a right but a passport to human development. It opens doors and expands opportunities and freedoms. It contributes to fostering peace, democracy and economic growth as well as improving health and reducing poverty. The ultimate aim of Education for All (EFA) is sustainable development.

In the year 2000, the world’s governments adopted the six EFA goals and the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the two most important frameworks in the field of education. The education priorities of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) are shaped by these objectives.

The two sets of goals are an ambitious roadmap for the global community to follow. They offer a long-term vision of reduced poverty and hunger, better health and education, sustainable lifestyles, strong partnerships and shared commitments.

The EFA goals and MDGs are complementary: as Irina Bokova, UNESCO’s Director-General, says: “When you fund education, you are securing progress towards all the Millennium Development Goals”.

Education for All Goals

Goal 1: Expand early childhood care and education
Goal 2: Provide free and compulsory primary education for all
Goal 3: Promote learning and life skills for young people and adults
Goal 4: Increase adult literacy
Goal 5: Achieve gender parity
Goal 6: Improve the quality of education
Millennium Development Goals

Goal 1: Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
Goal 2: Achieve universal primary education
Goal 3: Promote gender equality and empower women
Goal 4: Reduce child mortality
Goal 5: Improve maternal health
Goal 6: Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
Goal 7: Ensure environmental sustainability
Goal 8: Develop a global partnership for development
As the lead agency in charge of coordinating the multiple partners in the EFA movement, UNESCO monitors global progress towards the six EFA goals, in particular by publishing an annual EFA Global Monitoring Report that tracks the achievements of countries and the international community.

Why is education important?

Pupils attend a class in an all girls' school as part of a World Food Programme (WFP) food-for-education scheme, encouraging student enrollment.
Education beats poverty: one extra year of schooling increases a person’s earnings by up to 10%. 171 million people could be lifted out of poverty if all students in low-income countries left school with basic reading skills.
Education promotes gender equality by helping women control how many children they have. In Mali, women with secondary education or higher have an average of three children, while those with no education have an average of seven children.
Education reduces child mortality: a child born to a mother who can read is 50% more likely to survive past age five. In Indonesia, child vaccination rates are 19% when mothers have no education and 68% when mothers have at least secondary school education.
Education contributes to improved maternal health: women with higher levels of education are most likely to delay and space out pregnancies, and to seek health care and support.
Education helps combat HIV, malaria and other preventable diseases. In addition, it facilitates access to treatment and fights against stigma and discrimination.
Education encourages environmental sustainability. It allows people make decisions that meet the needs of the present without compromising those of future generations. The UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD), launched in 2005, urges countries to rethink education, curricula and teaching practice in ways that complement the drive to achieve EFA.
Education helps global development. An estimated $16 billion in aid is needed annually to reach the EFA goals in poor countries. However, in 2008 poor countries received only $2 billion in aid for basic education. The worldwide military expenditure for 2009 was $1.5 trillion.

YOU AND YOUR HAPPINESS

10 tips for a happy life»
...Try doing one act of kindness everyday to flush out the toxins of depression from your system.
1. Gratitude
Appreciate what you have and value it. Try counting your positives and be grateful for all the good things and people in your life. Stop complaining and be thankful for what you already have and you’ll soon start feeling happy.
2. Optimism
Treat failure as an opportunity to learn a new and better lesson from life, and that’s the trick to manufacture optimism in life. Never give up trying because that’s an indication that something better is in store. Once you start harbouring an optimistic attitude towards life, success will automatically follow.3. Avoid comparison
Nothing is as awful as comparing yourself to someone else. If you think you’re better that the other person, you’re letting yourself regale in an unhealthy sense of superiority. If you demean yourself in front of others, it means all your hard work and progress has been in vain. While social comparisons are unhealthy, self-improvement is effective.
4. Kindness
There’s a scientific reason behind every act of kindness that you do. Helping someone selflessly releases serotonin in your brain (Serotonin is the hormone that controls your mood) and hence makes you feel good about yourself almost instantly. Try doing one act of kindness everyday to flush out the toxins of depression from your system.

5. Nurture relationships
Relationships keep us alive and kicking. In fact, according to research studies loneliness doubles people’s mortality rates. A circle of good friends, loving family members and cheerful colleagues are a reminder that you have people who care about you. There’s nothing like having someone who you can share your experiences with. So nurture these relationships and say goodbye to a lonesome existence.

6. Forgive
Hatred is a negative feeling and harbouring it will have nothing but negative effects on your well-being. Stop thinking about the hateful emotion/person and let it go. Forgive if needed, take things lightly and let it not affect your system.

7. Commit to your goals
If you have a goal, work towards it. Anything is achievable if you put your heart into it. Wholehearted dedication and diligence can bring extraordinary results and consequentially add to your happiness.

8. Spirituality
Spirituality teaches us that life is bigger than us and it helps us connect to the larger meanings of life. Practice spirituality to understand the source of all creation and feel connected to everything that exists in this world.

9. Care for your body
Love yourself and love your body! Your physical condition has a direct connection with your well-being. A fit body and healthy mind is reflective of happiness. Start working towards the health of your physical, mental and emotional energy by caring for your body.

CHOICES YOU MIGHT REGRET LATER IN LIFE.

….carve your name on hearts, not stone. What you have done for yourself alone dies with you; what you have done for others and the world remains.

“One decision can develop into a habit, and the habits you form create your reality. Here are 10 choices that carry significant weight. Learn to be conscious of the decisions you make so you can do your best to live like a champion:”

1. Wearing a mask to impress others.
If the face you always show the world is a mask, someday there will be nothing beneath it. Because when you spend too much time concentrating on everyone else’s perception of you, or who everyone else wants you to be, you eventually forget who you really are. So don’t fear the judgments of others; you know in your heart who you are and what’s true to you. You don’t have to be perfect to impress and inspire people. Let them be impressed and inspired by how you deal with your imperfections.

2. Letting someone else create your dreams for you.
The greatest challenge in life is discovering who you are; the second greatest is being happy with what you find. A big part of this is your decision to stay true to your own goals and dreams. Do you have people who disagree with you? Good. It means you’re standing your ground and walking your own path. Sometimes you’ll do things considered crazy by others, but when you catch yourself excitedly losing track of time, that’s when you’ll know you’re doing the right thing. Read The 4-Hour Work week.

3. Keeping negative company.
Don’t let someone who has a bad attitude give it to you. Don’t let them get to you. They can’t pull the trigger if you don’t hand them the gun. When you remember that keeping the company of negative people is a choice, instead of an obligation, you free yourself to keep the company of compassion instead of anger, generosity instead of greed, and patience instead of anxiety.

4. Being selfish and egotistical.
A life filled with loving deeds and good character is the best tombstone. Those who you inspired and shared your love with will remember how you made them feel long after your time has expired. So carve your name on hearts, not stone. What you have done for yourself alone dies with you; what you have done for others and the world remains.

5. Avoiding change and growth.
If you want to know your past look into your present conditions. If you want to know your future look into your present actions. You must let go of the old to make way for the new; the old way is gone, never to come back. If you acknowledge this right now and take steps to address it, you will position yourself for lasting success. See the book The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business.

6. Giving up when the going gets tough.
There are no failures, just results. Even if things don’t unfold the way you had expected, don’t be disheartened or give up. Learn what you can and move on. The one who continues to advance one step at a time will win in the end. Because the battle is always won far away and long before the final victory. It’s a process that occurs with small steps, decisions, and actions that gradually build upon each other and eventually lead to that glorious moment of triumph.

7. Trying to micromanage every little thing.
Life should be touched, not strangled. Sometimes you’ve got to relax and let life happen without incessant worry and micromanagement. Learn to let go a little before you squeeze too tight. Take a deep breath. When the dust settles and you can once again see the forest for the trees, take the next step forward. You don’t have to know exactly where you’re going to be headed somewhere great. Everything in life is in perfect order whether you understand it yet or not. It just takes some time to connect all the dots.

8. Settling for less than you deserve.
Be strong enough to let go and wise enough to wait for what you deserve. Sometimes you have to get knocked down lower than you have ever been to stand up taller than you ever were before. Sometimes your eyes need to be washed by your tears so you can see the possibilities in front of you with a clearer vision again. Don’t settle.

9. Endlessly waiting until tomorrow.
The trouble is, you always think you have more time than you do. But one day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to work on the things you’ve always wanted to do. And at that point you either will have achieved the goals you set for yourself, or you will have a list of excuses for why you haven’t. Read Randy Pausch’s The Last Lecture.

10. Being lazy and wishy-washy.
The world doesn’t owe you anything, you owe the world something. So stop daydreaming and start DOING. Develop a backbone, not a wishbone. Take full responsibility for your life – take control. You are important and you are needed. It’s too late to sit around and wait for somebody to do something someday. Someday is now; the somebody the world needs is YOU.

APPLE SET TO UNVAILS MORE iPHONE

apple inc. is set to unvail 2 new iphone in the mobile market. The higher-than-expected price of Apple Inc's new cheaper iPhone eased worries about gross margins, while arousing concerns the company was not being aggressive enough in its fight against Google Inc's market-dominating Android operating system.

Apple's shares were down about 5.6 percent at $467.24 in early trading on Wednesday, a day after it unveiled the 5S, a high-end iPhone with a fingerprint scanner as well as a cheaper 5C model targeted at emerging markets.

"...We worry that Apple's inability/unwillingness to come out with a low-priced offering for emerging markets nearly ensures that the company will continue to be an overall share loser in the smartphone market until it choses to address the low end," Sanford C. Bernstein analysts said in a note.

Still, Bernstein maintained its "outperform" rating on Apple's stock, saying it expected the new iPhones to have little impact on gross margins.

Nomura Equity Research analyst Stuart Jeffrey, who raised his price target for Apple shares to $480 from $420, said Apple may have ensured stable margins for the next couple of quarters by pricing the 5C at $99 with a contract and $549 without.

This was not enough for BofA Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse or UBS, all of which downgraded Apple's stock to "neutral".

"Rather than offer attractive pricing for consumers, and move the iPhone 5c into a new and growing price segment, Apple retained a premium pricing strategy in targeting the $400-800 smartphone segment," Credit Suisse analyst Kulbinder Garcha said in a note.

"This segment is not forecast to see meaningful growth long term. This decision, at the margin, is good for profitability but not growth."

Garcha said that Apple's share of the smartphone market, where it faces intense competition from Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, would likely fall to 15.5 percent this year and 13.1 next year from 18.1 percent last year.

Saying the 5C was "nobody's low-margin phone", Cowen and Company analyst Timothy Arcuri said Apple's new relationship with Japan's NTT DoCoMo Inc and an expected partnership with China Mobile Ltd supported the view that 2014 Street estimates for Apple earnings looked too low.

Arcuri said gross margins for the 5C appeared to be as high as the mid 50 percent area.

Apple's third-quarter profit fell 22 percent as gross margins slid below 37 percent from more than 42 percent in the year-earlier quarter.

CHALLENGED BY ANDROID

"While the 5C is a first step away from the high-end, we do not think it is a big one," JP Morgan's Mark Moskowitz said.

Analysts at UBS Securities said that even if Apple secures a partnership deal with China Mobile in the near term, it will have a hard time competing against comparable Android devices priced 40 to 50 percent lower than the iPhone 5C.

UBS, which cut its rating on Apple's stock to "neutral" from "buy", cited a survey of 35,000 Chinese consumers conducted by ChinaDaily.com that indicated only 2.6 percent of respondents would consider buying the cheaper iPhone at the $549 level.

The 5C will sell for 4,488 yuan ($730) China, almost $200 more than in the United States.

At least four brokerages raised their target prices for Apple shares.

Raymond James and Associates maintained its "strong buy" recommendation on the stock and raised its share price target to $675 from $600, based on expected demand for the lower-end iPhone coupled, the NTT DoCoMo relationship, and the preservation of gross margins.

Canaccord Genuity kept its "buy" rating on the stock and raised the target price to $550 from $530, citing Apple's aggressive launch plans in more than 100 countries by year-end.

Canaccord also raised its 2014 estimate for iPhone sales to 180 million phones from 177 million.

Lazard Capital Markets raised its share price target to $570 from $500, noting a "best in class user experience".

"With escalating investor focus on Apple's diminishing product differentiation, slowing growth and margin compression, we think it's time to revisit what makes Apple unique," Lazard analyst Edward Parker wrote in a note.

"...We propose that Apple is a 'storage' company, not only levered to data creation but instrumental in driving data creation in ways its competitors are not," he said.
